On February 13, 1999, my life changed forever. I went to the doctor for a check-up and was shocked to find that not only did I weigh 192 pounds at barely 5’5” tall, but I had a lump in my breast and a large clump of cervical tumors.
My doctor recommended immediate surgery and chemo so I let him schedule the surgery, but when it came time to sign the consent form, I couldn’t do it. You see, my mother and her sisters had cervical and breast cancers. They chose the mainstream medical route, which included surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation and their cancers just kept coming back. Two of my aunts died after long battles of trying to fight the disease. I decided not to have the surgery, but rather to heal my body the natural way through the Living Foods Lifestyle.
I learned about Ann Wigmore and the famous Living Foods Lifestyle that she had developed. I began drinking wheatgrass juice and lots of fresh green juices everyday. I ate a lot of organic raw vegetables and the four foods for healing, Rejuvelac, Energy Soup, Vege-Kraut and more Wheatgrass Juice. I began to lose weight, my energy increased, the bleeding from the cervical tumors stopped and my breast tumor began to shrink.
Detoxing was a challenge, but well worth it! When I began eating organic raw and Living Foods, every toxin and poison in my body began to release and I had the “headache from hell”. I also experienced nausea, exhaustion, sleeplessness, depression, anxiety, aches, pains, facial breakouts, dry, itchy red patches all over my thighs, hips and butt, and I felt like I had the flu. The first few days were probably the most miserable I had ever been. Besides feeling awful, I had all these emotions surfacing to deal with. I was angry for allowing myself to get in such bad shape. I didn’t like the raw and Living Foods and I wondered how I would be able to do without Thai food, French fries, pizza, chocolate, potato chips, and all those other foods I had become so addicted and attached to. I resented that all this had happened to me. I cried, then I sobbed, then I cried some more. I felt real sorry for myself and then I kicked myself in the rear. I had to release and heal old feelings that I had suppressed for years.
In the beginning I was completely overwhelmed at the thought of having to learn to prepare foods without cooking. I was known for my gourmet cooking and wondered how in the world I would be able to make food taste good without cooking it. I worried about how I would travel, eat out or dine with my friends.
As my body became cleaner, free of all the toxic waste that had built up over fifty years, and as I became less deficient by eating enzyme rich, living foods, my tastes began to change and so did my attitude. The food began to taste better and better, and I even began to crave it! I lost all my desire for sugar—no more chocolate bars, cakes, pies, or cookies. I didn’t even like the smell of sweets anymore. I noticed that tofu, which I had once loved as my favorite meat substitute, made me tired and bloated and gave me gas. Eating raw and Living Foods made me feel lighter, more energetic, focused, and calm.
In less that about 3 months my weight went from 192 to 117. This might sound like a lot of weight to lose in such a short time, but much of it came out of my toxic, impacted colon. When I cleaned out my colon, the pounds came off. My gray hair turned back to its original color. I had worn glasses since age 12 and now I don’t need them anymore. My age, “liver” spots all faded completely. My depression went away. My rheumatoid arthritis improved completely. My energy soared. I needed less sleep. I felt more energized and alive than I had ever felt. Allergies vanished. My skin improved, even glowed. Wrinkles faded and I began to look younger. My cancer totally disappeared. Incredible? Not really. The Living Foods Lifestyle gives incredible results!
